More than 1.5 llakh apply for APSET

Massive response to the A.P. State Eligibility Test (APSET) from candidates searching for eligibility for a teaching job in the colleges and universities has surprised the officials, who however say the successful candidates may not be high as is being expected by the aspirants.
About 1.6 lakh candidates applied for the APSET being conducted after 13 years with the hope that a pass in the test will give them the all important eligibility certificate. There is a wrong notion that all the candidates clearing the exam will be declared eligible. Only the top three or four per cent of the candidates will be declared eligible as is being done in the UGC-NET. “The result process will be done with the assistance of the UGC and it will decide on the number of eligible candidates to be declared,” said B. Rajeswara Reddy, Member Secretary, APSET. “Let there be some clarity on the eligibility issue,” says Prof. Reddy adding that it may not cross four per cent of the applicants. He reminds that success percentage at UGC-NET has never crossed four per cent. In the SETs conducted by different States recently is also an indication. In Gujarat it was just 1.8 per cent, Karnataka 3.8 per cent and Tamil Nadu around 4 per cent. In fact, the State government showed about 3,500 teaching vacancies while releasing the notification and the UGC will select the list keeping that number in mind. The massive response is understood as the UGC-NET is hard to clear with competition at the national level and NET or APSET certificate becoming mandatory for teaching jobs in the colleges and universities apart from promotions to the existing faculty. Candidates who have passed M. Phil prior to 1993 must possess NET or SET for being eligible for the posts of Assistant Professor. The UGC felt the need to make NET and SET mandatory for the purpose of appointment to teaching posts to upgrade standards.
The eligibility status will be valid lifetime.

UGC NET RESULT; Result disappointed students

UGC NET results leave students an angry lot
source; THE HINDU, THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, September 20, 2012

A group of candidates, who appeared for the National Eligibility Test (NET) of the University Grants Commission, are preparing to move the Court against an alleged post-result alteration of the Test’s qualification norms by the Commission.

The NET results were published on September 18. After the publication of the results, the Commission allegedly altered the Test’s qualification norms by mandating that candidates in the general category score an aggregate of 65 per cent for all three of the NET’s papers to become eligible for lectureship.

For OBC, SC/ST

The corresponding figure for the OBC category is 60 per cent and that of the SC/ST category is 55 per cent.

Bincy Verghese, who wrote the NET for Malayalam language, told The Hinduhere on Wednesday that in the original notification of the UGC it was specified that candidates in the general category should score at least 40 per cent for papers one and two and 50 per cent for paper three to be eligible for consideration for the final preparation of the result.

“There was no aggregate mentioned. I, for instance have scored 62 each for papers one and two and 98 for paper three. According to the original UGC notification, anyone in the general category who scores 155, would become eligible for consideration for the final result. Now, only those with 65 per cent or 227.5 marks will make the cut. I have not qualified. This new criterion was made known to us only after the publication of the results. Already about 30 candidates have come together to file a court case,” she explained.

In the same manner, a candidate in the OBC category who need have scored only 138 marks now needs 210 marks to qualify.

New qualification

For the SC/ST category, the new qualification cut-off will be 192.5 as against the earlier specified 130. Papers one and two have a maximum of 100 marks and paper three, 150. However, the ‘Scheme of Test’ link in the UGC’s National Educational Testing Bureau’s website also mentions that “…the final qualifying criteria for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Lectureship shall be decided by the UGC before the publication of (the) result.”

In answer to a query from the University of Kerala on this issue on Wednesday, a senior UGC official reportedly explained that the final qualification cut-off arrived at by the UGC was in relation to the top scores in each paper.

This information is confidential and this was why it was not published earlier.

No change

There was no post-result alteration of any norm, the official reportedly added.

Despite repeated attempts, the Deputy Secretary of the National Educational Testing Division Surender Singh could not be reached for comment.

UGC NET results: rules altered, candidates disaffected

UGC NET results: rules altered, candidates disaffected

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has published the National Eligibility Test (NET) results on September 18. After publication of the results, UGC allegedly altered the qualification norms by stating that candidates belonging to the general category needed to score an aggregate of 65 per cent for all three of the NET's papers to become eligible for college and university lectureship. This has led to disaffection among those who appeared for the test.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) results for the National Eligibility Test (NET) are available at http://ugcnetonline.in/Result_june2012.pdf. Candidates can tally their roll numbers against those declared selected. About 5,71,627 candidates sat for the test on June 24, 2012.

43,957 candidates have qualified the test and as many as 3,625 candidates have qualified for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), a UGC statement released earlier read.

UGC NET RESULT JUNE 2012, ISSUE IN HC

Candidates to approach High Court over change in eligibility
source;  The Times of India
Candidates who appeared for theNational Eligibility Test (NET) for lectureship category were shocked to see that many did not make the cut when results were declared on September 18. Their 'shock' was over the fact they had 'achieved' the minimum eligibility criteria, but were still not on the passing list.
The NET is conducted by the University Grants Commission for junior research fellowships and lectureships. Candidates who clear NET in the latter category are eligibly for employment in any university in the country. On June 2012, the NET was conducted in a new avatar with the paper being in the MCQ format.
A notification issued before the June exam said candidates will have to score a minimum percentage in all three papers. For paper-1 and 2, the minimum was set at 40% for general category while the reserved category candidates were allowed a 5% relief. For paper 3, the minimum was set at 50% for general category, 45% for OBC and 40% for other reserved categories.
All students were given a carbon copy of their answer sheets and when the answer keys were uploaded on the UGC site, the results were 'unofficially' declared.
Neha Bobde is a contributory lecturer with the postgraduate department of law at Nagpur University, and one of the affected candidates. She said, "I have scored well above the minimum eligibility criteria in all three papers, but my name was not mentioned there. UGC has changed the eligibility criteria after we appeared for the exam in an arbitrary manner."
This can also be seen on the UGC site, as an addition to the eligibility criteria. An undated notification, but the most recent one UGC site, says that candidates now need an aggregate of 65% in all three papers (60% for OBC and 55% for others) to be eligible for lectureship.
Bobde said, "We are approaching the HC this week and any affected candidates who want to join us can send an e-mail to net.nagpur@gmail.com with their details."
Shirish Deshpande, HOD, PG Dept of Law, said, "This is the first time I have encountered a situation like this for NET. I just don't see how UGC can change the criteria after the exam has been conducted. Also, this is an eligibility exam and not an appointment-based exam like UPSC for a grant-based exam fellowship."
His colleague, associate professor Shrikanth Komawar, said, "I don't endorse UGC's step of setting an aggregate percentage criteria at this stage, as it smacks of an unjust, arbitrary action. I have no issue if UGC declares a high eligibility criteria before the exam, but this last moment decision is wrong."
Learning how to kiss a woman shouldn’t focus on the mouth only.  Aside from all the touching that you do and the caressing moves on her body, she would want to experience something else.  Her body is a target of pleasure and there is no excuse for you not to explore the areas with your kisses.  She may be new to the idea but sure enough, it will be something really exciting and worth the try.  With her sensations going wild with all the kisses on her body, you will be sure to have a great and sensual time together.  Not only will it be a passionate experience for the both of you, but through this, you can go further steps into a more action filled adventure.
